Jennie Gertrude George passed from this life on September 30, 2010 at her residence in Texarkana, Texas of natural causes.
Graveside services will be held on October 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Leesville Cemetery under the direction
of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, a dignity memorial provider. Minister officiating will be the Rev. Mike Paris.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruthie Paris and husband Mike of Moss Bluff and Vallie George of Tacoma, Wash.; brother,
Ray Jackson of Columbus, Ga.; grandchildren, Matthew Paris and wife April, Mandy Paris Dubose and husband Jacob, Marshall Paris, Jennie Marie Henning, Michael Patton and great grandchild, Blace Paris.
She was a native of North Carolina and
had lived in the Leesville area for 20 years. She graduated from Northwestern University. Jennie worked at Fort Polk as an accountant and owned Queens Closet Ladies Apparel. Later she moved to Texarkana where she worked for Red River Army Depot until
she retired. She was a member of First Christian Church of Leesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made, in her memory, to the First Christian Church, 400 N. 4th St. Leesville, 71446. Words of comfort may be shared
