Venson Monk, 93, of LaCamp, passed from this life and went to be with the
Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.
Mrs. Monk was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and a retired Postmaster.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Fred Monk; son: Freddie Monk; sister, Myrtle Miller Gallion;
and brothers, Harold Miller and Roark Miller.
She is survived by her son, Jimmie Monk and wife Elizabeth Monk of LaCamp; “almost” daughter, Mabel Ragland; brother, Dewey Miller; sister, Tessie Miller Monk; six grandchildren and numerous
great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Oct. 14 from 4-8 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville.
Funeral services will be held on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Hixson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill
Cemetery in LaCamp under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
