Alton Ray Crager

Funeral services for Alton Ray Crager, 83, of Kurthwood will be held at 3 p.m. on May 26 at Sunny Hill Baptist Church in Kurthwood with Rev. Mildard Monk officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Cemetery under the direction of
Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on May 25, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on May 26, at the church.
Alton, the son of Louie Sanders and Lucille Anderson Crager, was born
on Feb. 3, 1929, in Leesville. He passed away on May 23, 2012, in Alexandria.
He worked for the Vernon Parish Policy Jury as a road grader and a mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United State Air Force. He was a
member of Sunny Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laverne Crager of Kurthwood; son, Jeremy Crager of Decatur, Tenn.; daughters, Janet Foster and husband, Reese of Athens, Tenn. and Cindy Lam; stepson, Tommy
Prewitt and wife Sharon of Leesville; stepdaughter, Margie Stanley and husband, Roy of Leesville; brothers, Ronald Crager of Mansfield and Carl Crager of Tulsa Okla.; sister, Chelon Moats of Ashland Ky.; 16 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
