Graveside memorial services for Charles Willard
Westmoreland were held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 10 at the Pine Hill Cemetery, west of Leesville.
Visitation started at 10 a.m. on Oct. 10 at Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Willard, 73 passed away on Oct 4, 2013 in Alexandria. He was a
native of Leesville and served his country as a gunnery sergeant with the U.S.M.C during the Vietnam War, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Cross of Gallantry for his service. After retirement from the U.S.M.C. he served with the Louisiana
State Police for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling and living on Toledo Bend.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, JoAnne Westmoreland; and father, Hubert Westmoreland
Survivors are his wife of 16 years Linda Westmoreland of
Burkeville, Texas; son, Mike Westmoreland of Anacoco; daughter, Deanna Byus of Leesville; mother, Carlene Westmoreland of Leesville; brothers, Jerry Westmoreland of Baton Rouge, and Wayne Westmoreland and Robert “Bob” Westmoreland, both of Leesville;
sisters, Pat Sherwood of Beaumont, Texas and Sandy Westmoreland, of Qatar, United Arab Emirates; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service of Leesville.
