Funeral services for Ronald Wayne Simmons will be
held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church in Evans at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Evans Cemetery under the care of Jeane’s Funeral Service of Leesville.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Galilee
Baptist Church.
Ronald, 53, passed away on Saturday, April 5 at his residence in DeRidder. He was a native of Texas and was a graduate of Colombia High School in West Colombia, Texas. He worked as an electrician for Texas-New Mexico Power
and a security scanner for the Port Authority in Jamaica. He was an avid diver and love to fish, cook, spending time outdoors, and being with family.
Preceding him in death were his father, Gayle Simmons, and grandparents, Tommy and Dora
Craft and Frank and Wilma Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Simmons of DeRidder; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Casey Simon of Bay City, Texas; daughters, Heidi Lynae Simmons of Bay City, Texas and Kimberly Gooden of Kingston,
Jamaica; mother, Dorothy “Dot” Craft Simmons of Evans; brother and sister-in-law, George and Kim Simmons of West Columbia, Texas; grandchildren, Case Simmons and Zoey Eli Gooden; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
