Funeral services for Dan Nance, 57, of Leesville
will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Family Worship Center in Leesville with Rev. Robbyn Hunt and Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
Leesville.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 10 from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time all at the church.
Dan, the son of D.C. “Cliff” and Emogene Williams Nance, was born May 28, 1957 in Orange, Texas. He passed
away Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Kindred Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Dan graduated from Northwestern State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. He moved back to the Leesville area and worked as the news director for KVVP 105.7
radio station until he went to work at Fort Polk. Dan retired as the deputy public affairs officer from Fort Polk after 22 years. He was honored to receive the Commanders Award, which is the highest installation civilian award that can be
given.
Dan and Donna are members of the Family Worship Center and Dan has been a member of the Praise and Worship Team for a number of years, where he played an “Awesome Trumpet”. More important to him than all of that was his family. “Oh
He Loved His Family”!
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mark Nance and his sister Vicki Ennis.
Dan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Lyons Nance of Leesville; son, Josh Nance of Baton Rouge; sister,
Marilyn and husband Joe Oden of Leesville; sister-in-law, Rene’ Nance Duhon of Leesville and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
