Funeral services for Larry Darnell Jones, 61, of
Leesville, La., will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the First St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. James L. Gaither, Jr., M. TH officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the
direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
On Nov. 9, 1953, Larry Darnell Jones was born to Mrs. Effie Jones and the late Mr.
Charlie Jones of Leesville, La. He departed into eternal rest at the VA Hospital in Alexandria, La., on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015. He was baptized at an early age and remained an active member of the First St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Rev. James L. Gaither, Jr., M. TH.
Larry graduated from Leesville High School in 1972 and joined the United States Air Force where he worked as an Air Force Military Police Officer. He attended the local vocational technical
institute and worked at Fort Polk as a mechanics assistant.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jones of Leesville, his son, Roland “Chubby” Woods of Leesville and his brother, Charles Odell Jones of Houston, Texas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother; Effie Jones Trishell of Leesville, his sister, Vernita Jones Webb of Leesville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
