Funeral services for Faye Evelyn Cooley, 95, of Slagle, La., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Slagle Baptist Church in Slagle with Rev. Greg Blackwell and Dr. Glen Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor
Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Faye, the daughter of John Wesley and Dona Ward Williams, was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Leesville, La. She passed away in Shreveport, Wednesday Sept. 23, 2015.
Faye was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish, La. She was an active member for over 67 years at the Slagle Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Roy Cooley, son-in-law, Gordon
Williamson, brothers, A.J. and Cyril Williams.
She is survived by her sons, Gerald Glen and wife Sandra Cooley of Simpson, Darrell Loyd Cooley of Shreveport, Harold Louis Cooley of Leesville, Gary Wallace Cooley of Marietta, Ga., and Benny
Kile Cooley & wife Sheena of Monroe, Ga.; daughters, Dr. Maurice Jeanette and husband Bob Driggers of Hot Springs, Ark., Mavis Carol Williamson of Little Rock, AR, and E. Royetta Cooley of Shreveport, La.; Grandchildren, Jason Cooley, Phillip
Cooley, Cheryl Maldanis, Kevin Williamson, Brent Williamson, Adam Cooley and Ryan Cooley; Great Grandchildren, Whitney Williamson, Austin Cooley, Drew Cooley, Alex Cooley, Breanna Williamson, Ava Grace Young, and Riley Cooley.

Cooley’s family wants to extend a special thank you to Melonie Hampton for her special and loving care she gave their mother. And also to the doctors and staff at the Willis Knighton Pierremont Hospital.
Pallbearers will be grandsons,
Kevin Williamson, Brent Williamson, Jason Cooley, Phillip Cooley, Adam Cooley, Ryan Cooley and Mike Maldanis. Honorary pallbearer will be granddaughter, Cheryl Maldanis.
