Mildred Rich Merritt, 81, of Anacoco passed away
on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 in Anacoco. Mrs. Merritt was a homemaker and had lived in Leesville since 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Llano and was a faithful loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all.
Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by her husband James L. Merritt Sr., her son; Jim Merritt Jr., her daughter Linda Stewart, two grandchildren JW Merritt and Teresa Ellen Bradford, one sister and four brothers.
Those left to mourn
her loss and cherish her memory are her daughters; Terry Quackenbush, of Hornbeck, Debbie Rodgers and husband Michael, of Hornbeck, a daughter-in-law Peggy Merritt of Lake Charles, a son-in- law Randy Stewart , of Hornbeck, two sisters; Elizabeth
Foley and Louise English, both of Wallace, North Carolina; a very special caregiving granddaughter with whom she made her home Connie Bradford, seven grandchildren: Millie Zane (husband Paul), Jimbo Merritt (wife Christene), Tony Stephens, Joey
Bradford Sr., Thomas Bradford Jr., Steven Corkran (wife Santana) and Angelina “Angie” Corkran, along with 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation was 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Hixson Funeral Home, in
Leesville. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Interment will follow at Leesville Cemetery in Leesville.
Services will be under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in
Leesville.
