Funeral services for Johnnie Peavy Paliwoda
Koenck, 82, of Leesville will be held Monday, March 7, 2016, at 12 pm at Cooper Baptist Church in Pickering, with Rev. Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial
Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016, from 4 pm until 8 pm and on Monday, March 7th from 10 am until time of service all at the church.
Johnnie, the daughter of William Ezra and Ellen Susanna
Johnson Peavy, was born on June 3, 1933, in Leesville. She passed away at her home on March 3, 2016, with her children and grandchildren at her side.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband Bill Koenck of 43 years; siblings, Corbert
Peavy, Herbert Peavy, Wanda Schewe and step-son, Billy Koenck.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Brumfield; children, Terry Paliwoda & fiancé Karla Tansey of Houston, Texas, Mike Paliwoda & wife, Debbie of Cypress, Texas, Tonya
McKee & husband James of Leesville and Edwin Koenck & wife Leslie of Leesville; grandchildren, Shavonne, Mike II & wife Kristina, Kristen, Corey & wife Colleen, Brett & wife Tiffany, Clerc, Bridget, Rhett, Johnathan, Win,
Charlotte and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Josephine, Molly, Olivia, Kori, McKinley, Mikee, Landon, & McKenzie and step-children, Diane Koenck of Louisburg, N.C. Chuck Koenck of Youngsville, N.C. and his daughter Amanda Koenck and granddaughter
Ava.
Mrs. Koenck was very proud of her Nansemond Tribe & Southern Cherokee Nation heritage, as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Johnnie was also a descendant of the earliest pioneer families in Vernon
Parish.
Johnnie was active in community affairs and enjoyed being a member of the Orange Chapter 224 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired after 33 years of Civil Service employment at Fort Polk.
Johnnie will be laid to rest
by her grandsons as pallbearers, Brett & Rhett McKee, Mike Paliwoda, II, Corey Buckner, Johnathan, Win & Gator Koenck and nephew John Schewe.
