Hubert Nolan Williams

SHREVEPORT – Hubert Nolan Williams was born in
Leesville, LA on July 1, 1932 to Eddie Elbert and Georgia
Agnes Stewart Williams. He graduated from Leesville High School and entered the US Air
Force where after completing training in Electronics was
selected to attend Pilot Training. He
received his Wings and Commission at age Twenty One and served tours of duty in Alaska,
before it became a State, and in Korea, Iceland and Viet Nam.
During his career he earned
numerous awards including the Air Medal and Bronze Star. His initial assignment was to fly the
F-84 in Korea but when the hostilities ended was diverted to the Air Defense
Command where
he flew the F-89, F-94, F101 and F102 All Weather Interceptors. He retired from the Air Force
after twenty-one and a half years of service and completed his formal education earning a
BA
Degree from LSU Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert Alexander and Naomi Glascock Williams,
Albert and (Alma) O’Quin Stewart, parents, Eddie Elbert
and Georgia Agnes Stewart Williams,
sisters, Nelda Williams and Jeanette Williams Moffett. He is survived by his wife of 61years
Allice Lucille Rowzee Williams, daughter Elizabeth Suzanne Ferrell and
husband Michael, son
Hubert Nolan Williams, Jr. and wife Lisa, and daughter Cynthia Marie Williams DeLeon. Six
grandchildren, Rick, Tim, Lauren, Patrick, Andrew and Ethan. Seven great grandchildren;
Dalton, Anna, Dyllon, Jackson, Ryker, Luke, Ben and a sister Georgia Edwina Williams
Bolgiano.
A service celebrating the life of Hubert Nolan Williams was conducted at Centuries
Memorial
Funeral Home Saturday, May 28, 2016, 10:00 AM. Interment followed in Centuries Memorial
Park with Military Honors.
Honorary Pallbearers were Mr. Williams’s grandchildren.
