SANGER, Texas – Merle Taylor Dowden Robertson, 88,
passed away peacefully at her home in Sanger on Sunday, July 10, 2016.
She was born March 15, 1928 in Denco, Green County, Miss. She was the daughter of Edward Taylor and Bertie Allen Taylor.
Survivors include her sons, Eddie
and Kathy Dowden or Sanger, Mike and Jan Dowden of Conroe, Kenny and Nancy Dowden of Conroe; grandchildren, Brittany and Casey Barclay of Sanger, Chris and Jill Wozniak of Trail Lake, Ind., Lacey and Keith Buford of Conroe, Cody and Eve Dowden of
Bentonville, Ark., D.J. and Elizabeth Dowden of Little Elm, Texas, Shayne Dowden of Sanger, and David Raney of Manor; great-grandchildren, Mia, Chloe and Roman Wozniak, Austin and Kohen Barclay, Sadie and Lila Buford, Clara Millie Dowden, Madelyn and
Jaylee Dowden; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Alton Brewer of Black Hawk, Miss.; Sylvia and Billy Mims of Black Hawk; brother-in-law, Glen Robertson of Black Hawk and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husbands, Frank Robertson and Clarence Dowden; two brothers, M.B. Taylor and Edward C. Taylor; sister, Margurite Waters; and grandson, Dwayne Dowden.
Funeral services are Friday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in
Anacoco, La. with interment in Mitchell Cemetery under the direction of Labby Funeral Home in Leesville, La..
Pallbearers are her grandsons: Shayne Dowden, D.J. Dowden, Cody Dowden, Chris Wozniak, Casey Barclay and Keith Buford.
