Graveside services for Shirley Ann McDonald Dauzat
were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Blue Branch Cemetery with Brother Jeremy McCrory officiating under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Shirley, 77, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Saturday,
September 25, 2016 in her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born August 20, 1939 in Pitkin to the union of Almond McDonald and Oleta Lewis McDonald. She was graduated from Pitkin High School and a member of the First Baptist
Church in Pitkin.
She was a past employee at Finke’s and Vernon Parish Policy Jury where she worked as a secretary. Shirley was co-owner and operator at Dauzat Grocery in Pitkin.
She loved spending time outdoors in her flower
beds, rummaging through garage sales, and her passion was buying shoes. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George E. Dauzat; three sisters,
Doris Cartwright, Alva Lee Perkins and Donna Jean Moore.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Allan (Jolene) Dauzat and Craig (Punky) Dauzat, all of Pitkin; one daughter, Melissa “Missy” (Josh) Thetford of Pitkin; one
brother, Jimmy (Margie) McDonald of Pitkin; one sister, Carolyn (Fats) Mitchell of Pitkin; seven grandchildren, Tasha Bass, Lane Anding, Chance King, Luke Rasberry, Brody Dauzat, Caitlin Thetford and Dakota Wiggins; three great-grandchildren, Toby
Poe, Noah Tibbits and Carleigh Tibbits; and a host of
family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Donnie Perkins, Bradley King, Chris Mitchell, Chance King, Luke Rasberry and Brody Dauzat.
Visitation was held at
First Baptist Church in Pitkin, Monday.
