Claudia Buttrum

Claudia (Spillers) Buttrum,74, of Marysville, WA, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2017 with her family by her side after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on July 28th, 1943 in Leesville, LA to the late Claude and
Vergie Spillers.
She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Mel A. Buttrum. She was a 1961 graduate of Leesville High School in Leesville, LA. Upon graduation she began a long career as an office manager. She worked for
Coca-Cola Bottling CO. of Leesville, LA, and the Vernon Parish Housing Authority.
The family relocated to Medway, MA where she worked for East Land Container Co. In 1992, they moved to Washington and she soon thereafter
retired. After retiring, Claudia enjoyed gardening , reading, and traveling. She was especially fond of spending time at Camano Island, WA and vacationing in Florida.
She was very proud of her children and enjoyed spending time
with them anytime she could. Claudia is survived by sons, Kevin Bennet of Leesville, LA, and Mark Bennet of, Marysville, WA; and daughter, Carol Gardner of Newburgh IN; granddaughters Brooke and Devon Bennet of Leesville, LA; and Taylor and Kelsey
Gardner of Newburgh IN; brother Muriel Spillers of Leesville, LA and sister Anita Jones of Winter Park, FL.
A Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 26th 2017 at Schafer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State
Ave., Marysville WA 98270. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Providence Hospice, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Ste 500, Everett, WA 98201.
