Linda Gail West is no longer with us. After a
six-year battle with Dystonia with Parkinson’s Traits and Atypical Parkinson’s Syndrome, Linda left the confines of her bed and began her walk with the angels on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. The daughter of Iva Lois and William H. West of Leesville,
Linda was born on October 21, 1954.

She was a member of the graduating class of 1972 at Leesville High School, graduated from LSU and NSU, and studied at Ohio State University in pursuit of her PhD. Linda was living in
Leesville on the day of her passing. She is survived by her partner Glynn White of Leesville and a brother, Leland G West and wife Andree’ of Mint Hill, North Carolina, a niece; Amanda West Abshire and her husband, Jordan Abshire of Charlotte North
Carolina, and a Nephew, Ben West of Jersey City, New Jersey

Linda was a realtor, an educator, an accomplished businesswoman, and a consummate entrepreneur. She not only invested in and managed several businesses in Leesville
over the years, but, also succeeded in other business ventures across the state. While delivering FEMA Trailers after Hurricane Katrina, Linda met her soulmate Glynn White of Baton Rouge, who became her business and life partner. He cradled her in
love and attention until the end always putting her needs above his own.

An avid LSU fan, a lover and supporter of the Arts, and a friend to all, Linda will be missed by everyone who knew her. A memorial service celebrating her
life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Leesville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Linda donated her earthly body to Parkinson’s research, and has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Michael
J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at michaeljfox.org.
