Bernadine McRae

Bernadine McRae of Leesville, Louisiana passed
away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at The Woodlands Healthcare Center in Leesville.

Bernadine was born in Frelsburg, Texas on September 24, 1927 to Olga and Albert Mahalitc. She attended school in Columbus, Texas for 10 ½ years
and then moved to Eagle Lake, Texas. She graduated from Eagle Lake High School in 1944.

Bernadine went to Massey Business School in Houston. Her first job was adding the bills of military personnel traveling on the Southern
Pacific Railway out of Houston. When World War II was over, her job ended since jobs went to previous employees. She then worked with the telephone company, signing up people for phones, after that she worked for Levies, a dry good store, and Foley’s
in downtown Houston.

Bernadine is preceded in death by her husband, Bill McRae; her mother and father, Olga and Albert Mahalitc; her two brothers, Allen George Mahalitc of Rolling Fork, Mississippi and Arthur Mahaltic of Eagle
Lake, Texas.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Massey and husband, Delbert of Leesville, Louisiana; Kathryn Naismith and husband, Tommy of Alderbranch, Texas; son, Gary Henneke and wife Lori of New Ulm, Texas;
grandchildren, Jason Henneke, Jennifer Fajkus, Brad Pranschke, and Bradi Pranschke and 4 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at Old Anacoco Baptist Church 2386 E. Hawthorne Rd, Leesville, LA., on Friday,
December 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Self Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
