Lansford Chance LeBert, 72, of DeRidder, LA,
passed from this life on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.
Lansford was a graduate of DeRidder High School and SOWELA. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder, LA. He
loved his family and grandchildren with all of his heart. Lansford was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. After his time in the service he was employed as a chemical and small arms repair man and later at Post Engineers for Civil Service at Fort
Polk for 33 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being outdoors.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 ½ years, Barbara LeBert of DeRidder, LA; son, Lane LeBert and Melanie of Woodlands,
TX; brother, Tracey Williams and Beverly of New Llano, LA; grandchildren, Hayley LeBert of Lake Charles, LA, Layna and Lance LeBert both of Ragley, LA; step grandchildren, Hailey Wooten of Lubbock, TX, Hunter and Jacob Wooten both of Houston, TX; and
a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. LeBert; mother, Myra Chance Williams and sister, Myra Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019
from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2019 at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Brother Lindsey Burns will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Lane
LeBert, David Cudd, Craig Cudd, Conner Cudd, Darryl Chance and Henry Chance. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harvey Chance, Ronnie Young, and Bobby Cudd. Burial will follow at Creel Cemetery in Reeves, LA.
