Ellen was born on November 3, 1949 in Leesville, Louisiana. She
graduated class of 1967 from Leesville High School. She married the love of her life, Ben Luther Mount, Jr., on August 3, 1968. She worked in the home taking care of her husband and children until attending Lamar Salter Technical School in 1980 when
she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1987, she graduated from LSUA as a RN with an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA where she worked from 1980 to 1995. In 1995,
Ellen moved to Beauregard Memorial Hospital where she spent the last half of her nursing career in various positions: Same Day Surgery RN (1995); Same Day Surgery Director (1997); Director of Same Day Surgery, Operating Room, and Outpatient Services
Registration (1998); Education Director and Lead Clinical Analyst Specialist (2011); Director of Coordinated Care (2012). In October 2017, she retired from full-time employment working part-time as a Clinical Systems Analyst. Ellen enjoyed learning
and challenging herself throughout her nursing career. As much as she loved nursing, she loved her coworkers who she referred to as her extended family.

Ellen was an active member of East Leesville Baptist Church. She lived a
life of service to the Lord being actively involved through the years by teaching Sunday school classes, vacation bible school, and doing special ministries.

The simplest pleasures in life brought Ellen great joy. She loved
spending time with her family, particularly playing games, cooking, spending time outdoors, and making memories. She made every event special and memorable. She enjoyed quilting, crochet, and traveling. She enjoyed her weekly card and domino games
with her friends.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Ben Luther Mount, Jr., and four children Nancy Ellen (Phillip Hunt) and Ben Alan (Wendi Garner) of Leesville, LA, John Brian (Traci Merriman) of Fort Jessup, LA, and Jimmy
Arthur (Carrie Messimer) of Crawford, TX. She is survived by her sister, Cheri Ann Burns of Shreveport, LA. She is the beloved grandmother to eleven grandchildren and aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.

Ellen is preceded in
death by her parents, Overton B. Burns, Sr. and Jimmie Goldia Britt Burns, her sister Barbra Celiz, and brother Overton B. Burns, Jr.
