Gerald Columbus Leach
Funeral services for Gerald Columbus Leach will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Word of Life Tabernacle in Hornbeck, LA with Reverend Brian Dahlhoff officiating. Burial
will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien, LA under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, July 1st from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Gerald was born January 29, 1943 in Many, LA and went to
be with the Lord June 29, 2021 in Hornbeck, LA at the age of 78.
Gerald’s greatest desire was to serve the Lord and to be led by the Holy Spirit to fulfill God’s will. His passion was preaching the Word, which he did as a pastor for 46
years. He desperately loved all his children and grandchildren but was a spiritual father to countless other sons and daughters, whom he loved with the same passion.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Bertha Leach; son,
Steve Leach; sister, Shirley Leach; son-in-law, Pete Cantu; grandson, Braydon Bennett; and granddaughter, Patience Bree Richardson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Leach of Hornbeck; children, Selina Bennett and husband
James, Cynthia Cantu, Cheeta Leach and wife Danielle all of Denham Springs, LA, Whitney Lowe and husband Joshua of Hornbeck, Laykin Crain and husband Anthony of DeRidder, LA, Tracy Dahlhoff and husband Brian of Hornbeck, Toni Smith and husband
Trinidy of Bastrop, TX, and Tara Beebe of Leesville, LA; twenty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pall bearers will be Anthony Crain, Joshua Lowe, Marshall Evans, Samuel Dahlhoff, Kanon
Dahlhoff, Seth Haug, Trinidy Smith, and Steven Leach. Honorary pallbearers will be Cheeta Leach, Brandon Leach, Derek Miller, Joshua Cantu, Brycyn Bennett, Lane Lowe, Carter Lowe, and Jacob Dahlhoff.
