MANY — After suffering a season-opening loss, the top-ranked Many Tigers have won seven straight.
They will look to make it eight in a row at 7 p.m. on Friday when the Tigers (7-1, 4-0) take on the Bunkie Panthers (3-4, 1-3) in a District 3-2A showdown.
The Tigers have pretty much run roughshod over the competition with their powerful ground game. Last week in a win over Menard, running backs London and Trent Williams both rushed for over 200 yards, combining for five touchdowns.
London Williams, who ranks among the state leaders in rushing yards, touchdowns and points scored, ran for 220 yards and a score on 28 carries, while Trent Williams had only nine carries for 212 yards and four touchdowns, two of which went for 87 and 93 yards.
Jeremiah James is also solid in the backfield for the Tigers as he has around 1,000 yards on the season
Tackett Curtis, the 4-star safety, handles the snaps at quarterback and is a threat to run as well as the Tigers rarely throw the ball.
Defensively, the Tigers are very athletic, led by Curtis, Tylen Singleton and Ja’Marlyn Garner, who both had interception returns for touchdowns last week.
Bunkie is typically a very athletic team with the ability to beat other squads with their speed.
Many will close out the regular season against Lakeview next week.
