The Leesville City Wide Singing Convention is offering a special opportunity for those who want to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through community service. Volunteers from the group will be working to beautify Leesville’s two historically black cemeteries.

Volunteers will focus their beautification efforts on Leesville Memorial Cemetery and Garden of Memories Cemetery. The public is invited to join the group in honoring the life and legacy of King during the day of service.

An excerpt from their recent release states: “The Leesville City Wide Singing Convention will leverage the strength of local citizens to help tackle local problems and advance Dr. King’s dream of opportunity for all.”

The Leesville City Wide Singing Convention is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1945. Funds raised by the convention go to perpetually support and maintain both Leesville Memorial Cemetery and Garden of Memories Cemetery.
