Broncos knock off Hornbeck, Eagles win

SIMPSON — The Simpson Broncos overcame a slow start to pick up a 53-37 District 3-C win over the Hornbeck Hornets on Tuesday night.

Braxton Basco led the Broncos with 21 points, while Brayden Cutts and Ethan Nash were also in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Brady Alexander paced Hornbeck with 16 points, while senior Jaren Mitcham finished with 10 points.

DeQuincy…..68

ROSEPINE — Braydon Williams and Hunter Hines combined for 57 points Tuesday night in leading the Rosepine Eagles to a district win over the DeQuincy Tigers, 86-68.

Williams led the way with 30 points, while Hines drained seven three-pointers en route to 27 points. Hayden Brister added 10 points.

Reese Ashworth led the Tigers with 22 points, while Mario Dixon added 19 points. Gavin Gary and Jace Puryear each finished with 13 points.

Pleasant Hill……70

Evans…..65 

PLEASANT HILL — It took until overtime, but the Pleasant Hill Eagles were able to overcome the Evans Eagles in District 3-C play on Tuesday, 70-65.

C.J. Scott poured in 28 points to lead Pleasant Hill, while Tremon Scott finished with 13 points.

Zane West scored a season-high 26 points to lead Evans, while Wyatt Austin and Wyatt Fletcher added 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Hicks…..53 

EBARB — The Ebarb Rebels held off a late charge Monday night from the Hicks Pirates, holding on for a 55-53 district win.

Ebarb got 21 points from Kado Collins, while Keelan Parrie finished with 16 points.

Kase Busby had a season-high 22 points to lead Hicks.

Oakdale…..73

Pickering….61 

PICKERING — The Oakdale Warriors remained unbeaten in District 5-2A play on Tuesday night by knocking off the Pickering Red Devils, 73-61.

Oakdale standout Leon Posey IV led the way with 22 points, while Justin Alsburry finished with 17 points. Elijah Anderson added 14 points.

Marlon Freeney paced the Red Devils with 21 points, while Landon Chattam and Dareyun Hargrove each added 14 points in the loss.

Elizabeth….33

PITKIN — Three Pitkin players scored in double figures as the Tigers took care of the Elizabeth Bulldogs on Tuesday night, 61-33.

Braeden Fordham led the Tigers with 14 points, while Isaac Reed added 13 points. Matthew Paul chipped in with 11 points.

Owen Soileau and Brenon Thompson each had nine points for the Bulldogs.
