EBARB — It wasn’t the greatest of offensive performances for Simpson.

But who needs it when your defense is that much better.

Despite scoring only eight points in the first half, the Simpson Broncos were able to pick up a huge district road win on Tuesday night, knocking off the Ebarb Rebels, 32-27.

With the win, the Broncos now sit atop the District 3-C standings by themselves, holding a one-game lead over Pleasant Hill.

Even though Simpson had just eight points over the first 16 minutes of play, the Broncos had played solidly on defense as Ebarb clung to a 12-8 advantage going into the locker room.

Simpson scored 14 points during the third quarter, but only chopped a point off the deficit, going into the fourth trailing, 25-22.

But a 10-2 surge in the fourth proved to be the difference as Simpson got the victory.

Ethan Nash led the Broncos with 14 points, while Braxton Basco added 10 points. Kado Collins had 12 points to lead the Rebels in the loss.
