A Leesville resident has been hospitalized after being shot twice by four suspects who fired into the home the person was in Thursday night.
Police Chief Beth Westlake said officers responded to the Pearl Street shooting just after 9 p.m.
The victims said four people who had been riding around in a grey or light-colored Chevrolet Impala got out of the car, approached the residence and knocked on the door.
“A resident of the home answered the door, but immediately closed the door when he saw a masked individual with a gun,” Westlake said. “The suspects then began shooting into the residence.”
Westlake said the suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving.
The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. No other person in the home was injured, Westlake said.
