Thomas R. Burns Sr.

Funeral services for Thomas R. Burns, Sr., 78, of Simpson will be Friday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Gerald Smith and Rev. Donald Wayne Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the
Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 then from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home Friday, Jan. 30.
Thomas passed away Monday, Jan. 26 in his residence in Simpson. He was a
lifelong residence of the Simpson Community; He served in the US Navy. He retired from federal civil service as a record management inspector after 30 years. He also worked for the Simpson Water Department for 18 years. He was a member of the
Kisatchie Masonic Lodge #379 where he was a past master and also secretary and also a member of the Scottish Rite 32 degree.�
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Burns and his son Ricky Lynn Burns.
Thomas is
survived by five sons Thomas R. Burns, Jr. and Jon Burns both of Simpson, Randy Jeane of Columbus, Ohio, Chris Jeane of West Lake and Brian Jeane of Simpson; brothers Burman Burns�and Ross Burns of Orange, Texas; sisters Doris Brown of Lafayette
and Addis Reed of Blanchard; 12 grandchildren, Tasha Burns, Shelli Burns, Kelli Burns, Tabitha Burns, Hope Burns, Jewel Burns, Rebecca Jeane, Tyler Jeane, Timothy Jeane, Colby Jena, Hunter Jeane and Christopher Scott Burns; and one great
granddaughter, Kaitlynn Lee.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
