Funeral services for Rasberry Phillips, 89 of DeRidder will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder wiith Rev. Dale Miller and Rev. Doyle Cooper officiating.
Burial will
follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco friends may visit from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2009, and 9 a.m. on Wednesday February 18 until service time at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of the
Labby Memorial Funeral Home l in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Rasberry passed away, on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder.
Mr. Phillips was a native of Anacoco, he lived in Lake Charles
most of his life moving to DeRidder nineteen years ago. He retired from Firestone in Sulphur, after 25 years as an “A” operator. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne during WW II seeing action at Normandy and other parts of
Central Europe. He loved fishing and playing the guitar and fiddle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charline Smith Phillips; son, Mike Phillips; two grandsons; two brothers; two sisters; and his parents
Mr.
Phillips is survived by: daughters; Pat McRae and Bill of DeRidder, Charlotte Strickland and Charles Brock of DeRidder, and Marsha and Ron Stailey of Brookhaven, Miss.; sister Leatha Birdges husband Jerry of Florien, seven grandchildren and five
greatgrandchildren.
