Rosepine knocks off Kinder, Evans beats Simpson

ROSEPINE — Barbra Ann White, Aaliyah Marrero and Jenna Marler all hit two-run homers in leading the Rosepine Lady Eagles to a big District 5-2A win over the Kinder Lady Jackets on Tuesday, 10-7.

The Lady Jackets held a 6-2 lead early behind home runs from Megan Fuselier and Hadley Lemons, but they couldn’t hold off the Lady Eagles, who rallied for the win.

Marrero had a trio of hits, including the home run, while Marler and White each had two hits with two RBIs each. Shelby Deason and Ashlyn Hall each added a pair of hits in the win for Rosepine.

EVANS — Sadie Jeane not only earned the win on the mound, but she also had four hits and four RBIs to lead the Evans Lady Eagles to a 17-2 District 3-C win over the Simpson Lady Broncos.

Jeane tossed a no-hitter, despite giving up two runs. Madison Gollihugh added two hits in the win for the Lady Eagles.

ANACOCO — The Many Lady Tigers broke open a close game late to come away with a 10-2 non-district win over the Anacoco Lady Indians on Tuesday afternoon.

Camryn Ford had three hits and an RBI for the Lady Tigers, while Tia Holmes, who struck out 10 batters in earning the win, had a home run and four RBIs.

Bailey Davis suffered the loss despite striking out seven batters and giving up only six hits. Brooklyn Bryant had two hits, including a double, and a run scored, while Ava Davis and Anna Claire Vinson each connected on a double.
